CBI raids IAS officer Bishnupada Sethi’s residence in Bhubaneswar over bribery case

Bhubaneswar, Feb 18: A team of eight CBI officials conducted a raid at the official residence of senior IAS officer Bishnupada Sethi in Bhubaneswar on Tuesday in connection with a bribery case linked to Bridge and Roof Company (India) Ltd. Sethi, however, denied any involvement and alleged harassment by the investigating agency.
The IAS officer stated that the CBI team raided his house without any female officials or local police, which he claimed violated standard procedures. He also emphasized that he had no connection with the company, which has been engaged in Odisha government projects since 2016-17.
“The CBI officials arrived at 7 AM and forcibly searched my house. They are harassing my family even though no FIR has been registered against me. The company’s Group General Manager, Chanchal Mukherjee, was caught taking Rs 10 lakh bribe, yet they are raiding my house instead of his,” Sethi stated.
His wife also accused the CBI of misconduct during the search. The raid is part of an ongoing probe, during which Sethi was previously summoned as a witness and later transferred to a special duty role.
