Odisha Vigilance arrests accountant over disproportionate assets in Koraput

Bhubaneswar, Feb 14: Odisha Vigilance has arrested S Partha Sarathi Bisoi, an Accountant-cum-Data Entry Operator of Batasana Gram Panchayat under Kotpad block in Koraput district, following the discovery of massive disproportionate assets during simultaneous raids at seven properties linked to him on Thursday.
During the searches, officials unearthed three buildings, 16 plots, a cashew processing unit spread over 8,561 sq ft, gold jewelry weighing 285 grams, ₹2.45 lakh in cash, three tractors, a Bolero SUV, and other valuable assets. As Bisoi failed to provide a satisfactory explanation for these assets, he was arrested by the Vigilance team.
A case has been registered against Bisoi at the Koraput Vigilance Police Station under the Prevention of Corruption Act, and he will be produced before the court on Friday.
Officials have confirmed that the investigation is still ongoing to trace any additional assets and verify if there were any financial irregularities or misuse of government funds in accumulating these properties.
