Odisha to experience temperature rise after cold spell: IMD

Bhubaneswar, Feb 10: After a sharp drop in temperatures over the past few days, Odisha is likely to experience a gradual rise in temperature, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted on Monday.
According to the midday weather bulletin from the Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar, the minimum (night) temperature is expected to increase by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius over the next two days, with no significant changes thereafter.
Several regions have already begun to witness a rise in night temperatures since Sunday. In Rourkela, the temperature climbed to 9.6°C in the last 24 hours, following a sharp drop to 8.8°C the previous night.
G. Udayagiri in Kandhamal remained the coldest place in the state, recording a minimum temperature of 9°C, while Phulbani registered 9.5°C. The twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack recorded 17.9°C and 18°C, respectively.
Meanwhile, the IMD has issued a yellow warning for dense fog in parts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Khurda, and Dhenkanal over the next 24 hours.
