Bhubaneswar, Feb 8: A 31-year-old man, identified as Pramod Nayak from Gandhigrampada under Jaypatna police limits in Kalahandi district, was found dead under mysterious circumstances in a local pond on Saturday morning.

According to sources, Pramod received a phone call around 8 PM on Friday and left his house. When he failed to return home, his family members searched for him but could not locate him. To their shock, his body was later found floating in a pond.
His family has alleged murder, claiming that he had a dispute with some individuals during the recent Dhanuyatra festival in the village. They believe this conflict may have led to a pre-planned attack on him.

Pramod, who worked as a water service provider, was the sole breadwinner of his family. He is survived by his wife and two children, leaving them devastated.

The police have seized the body and launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death. Authorities are exploring all possible angles, including murder, as they await the post-mortem report to determine the cause of death.
