Odisha's Class X board exams: Enhanced security measures to prevent malpractice

Bhubaneswar, Feb 6: As the Class X board matriculation examination conducted by the Board of Secondary Education (BSE) approaches, scheduled from February 21 to March 6, the board has implemented comprehensive measures to prevent question paper leaks and malpractice.
During a press conference, BSE President Srikant Tarai announced that 5,10,778 students across the state are expected to participate in the examination this year. To accommodate this, 3,133 examination centres have been established across 30 districts, along with 314 nodal centres.
To uphold the integrity of the examination process, all centres will be equipped with CCTV surveillance. Tarai highlighted that the board is expanding last year’s successful initiative of live streaming, which was conducted in 200 centres, to 600 centres this year.
To safeguard against question paper leaks, the board has introduced advanced security features, such as QR codes, watermarks, and unique serial numbers for each paper. These measures will ensure confidentiality and integrity during the examination process.
The distribution of question papers to all centres will take place between February 12 and 19. A robust security system has been put in place, enabling swift identification of any leaks through unique serial numbers assigned to each paper.
