Fire breaks out at Community Health Centre in Nabarangpur, no casualties reported

Bhubaneswar, Feb 4: A fire broke out in an extension room of the Community Health Centre (CHC) at Pujariguda in Nabarangpur district on Tuesday, causing panic among patients and staff.
According to CHC doctor Patitapaban Dwivedi, the fire was first noticed by an attendant, who immediately alerted the hospital staff. "Upon receiving the information, we rushed to the spot and attempted to control the flames using fire extinguishers with the help of security personnel. However, we were unable to contain the fire," he said.
Realizing the situation was worsening, the hospital authorities immediately contacted the fire brigade while simultaneously evacuating patients and bystanders. The indoor patients were safely relocated to another section of the hospital, away from the danger zone.
The fire brigade reached the site promptly and managed to douse the flames before the fire could spread further. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
Following an initial assessment, the authorities confirmed that the fire was caused by an electrical short circuit. Further evaluations are underway to ensure the safety of the facility and prevent such incidents in the future.
