Odisha Vigilance uncovers extensive assets of Bonai ITDA official in raids

Bhubaneswar, Jan 30: The Odisha Vigilance department carried out extensive raids on Thursday, uncovering significant assets linked to Biswadarsi Sahoo, the ITDA Project Administrator of Bonai, Sundargarh.
The raids were prompted by allegations that Sahoo owned assets disproportionate to his known income. The findings included a multi-storey building, two flats, and seven high-value plots. Additionally, two more high-value plots in Puri, 150 grams of gold, and ₹2.05 lakh in cash were seized.
A team of officials, including one Additional SP, three DSPs, and ten inspectors, conducted simultaneous searches at seven locations across Bhubaneswar, Balasore, Jajpur, and Bonai under search warrants issued by the Special Judge, Vigilance, Sundargarh. Among the assets found were a double-storey house in Bhubaneswar’s Sriram Nagar, a flat in Bhagwan Tower, a ₹15.75 lakh advance for an under-construction flat, and a Tiago car.
The Vigilance Technical Wing is evaluating the value of the seized properties, while further investigations are ongoing, including the opening of a locker in Sahoo’s spouse’s name at SBI’s Bapuji Nagar branch.
