Odisha Govt launches PMAY housing survey to support eligible beneficiaries

Bhubaneswar, Jan 24: The Odisha government has initiated a comprehensive housing survey under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) to identify and assist eligible beneficiaries statewide.
Minister Rabi Narayan Naik launched the survey on Friday at Arjunsinghpur village, Jasuapur Gram Panchayat, in Pipili block, Puri district. He interacted with beneficiaries and reiterated the government’s goal of housing for all.
The survey includes updated criteria, making families with two-wheelers, refrigerators, or landline phones eligible. The monthly income cap has been raised to ₹15,000, and separated individuals living independently can also apply.
Over 50,963 pending cases will be reviewed, and individuals who previously applied can reapply. The initiative aims to boost the scheme's reach from two crore to three crore homes nationwide.
Beneficiaries can submit applications via offline and online modes. A dedicated portal will be activated, and application fees have been waived to encourage participation.
Set to run for six to eight weeks, the survey focuses on identifying previously excluded residents and increasing Odisha's housing beneficiaries.
