Similipal introduces online booking rule for park visits

Bhubaneswar, Jan 24: The authorities of Similipal National Park have implemented a new regulation for visitors, effective from February 1, requiring tourists to apply online in advance for entry. This change replaces the earlier system where permits could be obtained offline from Pithabata and Jashipur.
Tourists now need to book their visit through the official websites, https://www.similipal.org and https://www.ecotourodisha.com. This move aims to streamline the entry process, reduce waiting times, and manage the crowd more efficiently, ensuring a smoother experience for visitors.
Similipal, a prominent wildlife destination, holds a special place in India's conservation history. It was declared a wildlife sanctuary by the Odisha government in 1979 and later recognized as a biosphere reserve by the Government of India in 1994. UNESCO also included Similipal in its list of biosphere reserves.
Authorities advise visitors to plan their trips carefully and apply online to avoid inconvenience, as the park's popularity continues to attract nature enthusiasts and wildlife lovers from across the country.
