Odisha to launch National Digital Health Mission, revolutionizing healthcare access

Bhubaneswar, Jan 2: Health Minister Mukesh Mahaling announced on Thursday that Odisha will soon implement the National Digital Health Mission (NDHM), allowing patients to consolidate and access their medical records through a unified digital account. This initiative is poised to transform the state’s healthcare system by integrating all medical data into a seamless digital platform.
Central to the mission is the introduction of the Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA) card, supervised by the National Health Authority (NHA). Citizens can register their health information through this card, which features a QR code enabling instant access to a patient's complete medical history, including past ailments and treatments.
The NDHM aims to enhance accessibility and efficiency in healthcare by facilitating the digital storage and retrieval of medical records. Odisha residents can apply for the ABHA card online, with integration into the Ayushman Bharat scheme.
The state government has set an ambitious target to distribute the health cards by February 2025, ensuring wide-reaching benefits for its citizens.
