Gold ornaments worth ₹30 lakh stolen in Bhubaneswar burglary

Bhubaneswar, Dec 23: A major burglary has been reported in Bhubaneswar, the capital of Odisha, where gold ornaments worth an estimated ₹30 lakh were stolen from a flat in the Paika Nagar area under Nayapalli police limits.
The theft occurred at the residence of Nirupama Sahoo while her family was away on a religious trip to Shirdi. According to reports, burglars broke into the house, targeting the family’s locker to steal the valuable jewelry.
The incident came to light when Nirupama’s family returned home and discovered the break-in. “This is my sister’s house. They had gone to Shirdi for darshan. We found out this morning that the gold had been stolen after the locker was broken open. We will inform the police,” said Nirupama’s brother.
Upon receiving the information, Nayapalli police arrived at the scene, inspected the premises, and launched an investigation into the burglary. Efforts are underway to trace the culprits and recover the stolen property.
