Odisha MP Pratap Sarangi discharged after treatment for head injury
Bhubaneswar, Dec 23: Pratap Sarangi, BJP MP from Odisha’s Balasore, and Mukesh Rajput, his party colleague from Uttar Pradesh, were discharged from Ram Manohar Lohia (RML) Hospital on Monday morning. Both MPs had sustained head injuries during a scuffle between Opposition and NDA members on the Parliament premises on December 19.
Following the incident, Sarangi and Rajput were rushed to the hospital for treatment. Sarangi had a deep cut on his forehead that required stitches, and he was bleeding heavily when brought in. Rajput also suffered a head injury and briefly lost consciousness but regained his senses by the time he arrived at the hospital.
Dr. Shukla, the hospital’s Medical Superintendent, stated that MRI and CT scans revealed no significant issues in either case. Sarangi, who has a history of heart problems and a stent, was monitored closely. Both MPs were initially treated in the ICU before being shifted to a general ward on Saturday. Their condition improved steadily, leading to their discharge.
