Bhubaneswar, Dec 23: A young woman kidnapped on Sunday night was rescued after an intense 10-hour search operation by the Commissionerate Police in Bhubaneswar on Monday.

The woman is now at the Maitri Vihar Police Station, where she is being questioned. The motive behind the abduction remains unclear as investigations continue.

Reports indicate that Akash Singh and his female companion were ambushed by a group of four miscreants. During the attack, the woman was forcibly abducted, and Akash sustained serious injuries. He was immediately taken to Capital Hospital for treatment.

The attackers later contacted Akash using his phone and demanded a ransom for the woman's release. Following the demand, Akash lodged a complaint at the Maitri Vihar Police Station.

Acting swiftly, the Commissionerate Police launched a rescue mission. After hours of meticulous efforts, the woman was successfully located and freed from captivity. Authorities are now working to identify and apprehend the culprits behind the incident.
