Bhubaneswar, Dec 20: Odisha is set to experience a wet weekend as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow warning for heavy rainfall in four districts on December 21. The forecast includes light to moderate rain or thundershowers in many parts of Coastal Odisha and a few areas of Interior Odisha on Sunday.

According to the IMD, heavy rainfall is expected at one or two locations in Ganjam, Gajapati, Kendrapada, and Jagatsinghpur districts on December 21, prompting the yellow alert. Light to moderate rain or thundershowers are also anticipated in several areas of Coastal Odisha and a few parts of Interior Odisha.

The IMD has further predicted shallow to moderate fog in Kandhamal, Kalahandi, and Sundargarh districts on Saturday. For Sunday, light rain or thundershowers are likely in Coastal Odisha, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, and Dhenkanal, while dry weather is expected across the rest of the state.

The forecast is valid from 8:30 AM IST on December 21 to 8:30 AM IST on December 22, 2024.
