ED sleuths raid senior Congress leader Niranjan Patnaik’s home

Bhubaneswar, Dec 20: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted raids at the residence of senior Congress leader and former Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) president Niranjan Patnaik in Bhubaneswar’s Nayapalli area on Saturday.
The search operation reportedly began around 7 AM when a team of 8-10 ED officials arrived at the location. To ensure security during the raid, personnel from the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) were stationed outside the premises.
According to sources, the raids are part of an ongoing investigation into allegations of illegal financial transactions. While the specific reasons behind the operation remain undisclosed, it is believed that the ED is probing Patnaik’s alleged involvement in unaccounted financial activities.
In addition to his Nayapalli residence, two other locations associated with Patnaik were also searched by the ED. As of now, neither Patnaik nor his representatives have issued any official statement addressing the raid. The development has sparked significant political and public interest in the state.
