Odisha IAS officer under CBI scanner in tender fixing case

Bhubaneswar, Dec 14: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) issued a summon to IAS officer Bishnupada Sethi on December 10 in connection with a cash seizure near Mayfair Hotel on December 7.
According to sources, the three individuals apprehended during the CBI raid had transferred money to the account of Sethi's driver, allegedly to secure a tender. To gather more details, the CBI summoned Sethi to appear for questioning on December 11. His drivers were also called in for interrogation, and the CBI has requested their contact details from the Odisha government.
Bishnupada Sethi, currently serving as Chief Secretary in various Odisha government departments, has remained silent on the allegations. The CBI is focusing on the potential involvement of his staff in the case.
Reacting to the incident, Odisha Law Minister Prithiviraj Harichandan condemned corruption, asserting, “It doesn’t matter if the person is a bureaucrat, politician, or VIP. Strict and exemplary action will be taken against the corrupt.”
The investigation is ongoing.
