Senior citizens, differently-abled to benefit from new six-lane ramp at Srimandir
Bhubaneswar, Dec 12: The Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) has announced plans to construct a six-lane ramp at Puri Srimandir to facilitate hassle-free darshan of the Holy Trinity for senior citizens and differently-abled devotees.
The proposal was discussed during a meeting between SJTA officials and the Odisha Bridge & Construction Corporation (OBCC) authorities. SJTA Chief Administrator Arabinda Padhee reviewed the proposed darshan facilities at the Nata Mandap of the temple, following recommendations from the Management Committee and the Chhatisha Nijog.
The SJTA has urged the OBCC to expedite the project in collaboration with the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) and the temple's technical committee.
The OBCC is also overseeing the Srimandir heritage corridor project, which includes developing a 75-metre-wide corridor around the Meghanada Pacheri, a multi-level car parking facility connected to NH via Shree Setu, a 2.3 km four-lane road bridge to the Jagannath Ballav Pilgrim Centre, a welcome gate, viewpoints, and other infrastructure enhancements.
