Bhubaneswar, Dec 10: The Capital Region Urban Transport (CRUT) has announced a tender for the deployment of double-decker electric buses to enhance tourism across three districts in Odisha.

According to the CRUT notification, the authority is looking for a bus operator to supply, operate, and maintain these double-decker electric buses under a Gross Cost Contract (GCC) model, with an initial contract duration of 10 years, extendable by an additional two years.

The Request for Proposal (RFP) invites bids for the manufacture and delivery of five air-conditioned double-decker electric buses, complete with chargers and comprehensive maintenance for the full contract duration. These buses are intended for tourism services within Odisha, as specified in the tender document, and will operate across key routes in Khordha, Cuttack, and Puri.
The initial operating agreement will commence from the Commercial Operations Date (COD), with CRUT holding the right to extend the contract for two more years based on performance and condition. The selected operator will be responsible for providing licensed drivers, trained staff, and personnel to ensure smooth and compliant operations of the bus service.
