Odisha IPS officer Ashish Kumar Singh appointed IG of ITBP

Bhubaneswar, Dec 7: Odisha cadre IPS officer Ashish Kumar Singh has been appointed as the Inspector General (IG) of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP). The Ministry of Home Affairs issued the notification on Friday, confirming the appointment of the 2004-batch officer.
According to the notification, Singh will serve as IG for a period of five years from the date he assumes charge or until further orders, whichever is earlier. The post comes under Level-14 in the Pay Matrix. The Ministry’s directive stated, “It is requested that Shri Ashish Kumar Singh be relieved immediately to enable him to take up his new assignment at the Centre.”
Singh’s appointment underscores his exemplary service record and is seen as a significant step in his career. The ITBP, tasked with guarding India’s Himalayan borders and maintaining internal security, will benefit from Singh’s extensive administrative and operational expertise. He is expected to assume his new role promptly.
