Bhubaneswar, Dec 6: A tragic incident unfolded in Barsinga village, located under the Barang police limits in Cuttack district, where a father allegedly set his son ablaze over a monetary dispute. The victim, identified as Dinabandhu Raut, succumbed to his injuries while receiving treatment at SCB Medical College and Hospital.

According to reports, the altercation arose during a heated argument between Dinabandhu and his father, Gobardhan Raut. In a fit of rage, Gobardhan allegedly set both his son and daughter-in-law on fire. Dinabandhu’s wife also suffered severe burn injuries in the incident and tragically passed away on Sunday, leaving their four-year-old son orphaned.

The incident has shocked the local community, highlighting the devastating consequences of family disputes escalating into violence. Following the tragedy, the police have arrested Gobardhan Raut and launched an investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding this heinous act. Authorities are now working to provide support for the young orphan left behind in the wake of this tragic incident.
