Navy helicopter makes emergency landing in Mayurbhanj paddy field

Bhubaneswar, Dec 4: In a dramatic turn of events, an Indian Navy helicopter made an emergency landing in a paddy field at Amarada village under Rasagovindapur in Mayurbhanj district on Wednesday. The helicopter, on a routine sortie, encountered a technical snag, forcing the pilot to bring it down urgently.
Farmers working in the fields were initially alarmed as the chopper hovered low, struggling to find a clear spot due to flying paddy stubble. Eventually, the pilot landed it in an adjacent field, ensuring safety. The crew, including the pilot, remained unscathed, but the helicopter sustained notable damage.
Villagers initially panicked but soon gathered around, thrilled to witness the naval helicopter up close—a rare sight in the rural landscape. The pilot worked for approximately 30 minutes to address the technical issues. After a 45-minute pause, the helicopter successfully took off, leaving behind a buzz of excitement and tales for the villagers to share.
