Khalistani leader threatens disruption of DG-IG conference in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar, Nov 28: On the eve of the DG-IG Conference 2024 in Bhubaneswar, Khalistani separatist and Sikhs For Justice (SFJ) founder Gurpatwant Singh Pannun released a video threatening to disrupt the high-profile event. The conference is set to be attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval.
In his provocative message, Pannun referred to Bhubaneswar as a “terror city” and accused the "Modi-Shah-Doval axis" of bringing security threats to the region. He called upon Maoists, Naxals, Khalistani supporters, and Kashmiri militants to obstruct the event, labeling it a "DGP Terror Conference" that allegedly targets groups opposing Hindutva ideology.
Pannun also challenged the Prime Minister to visit the Ram Mandir in Bhubaneswar and urged his followers to blend into the city’s temples and hotels to disrupt the proceedings.
Odisha DGP YB Khurania reassured the public that extensive security measures are in place to ensure the smooth conduct of the three-day national conference. “We are on high alert and have implemented unprecedented security arrangements,” Khurania stated.
