Bhubaneswar, Nov 25: In a dramatic turn of events, a mobile snatcher lost his life while attempting to escape after snatching a woman’s phone in Balasore district, Odisha, on Monday.

The incident occurred near Dahisada around noon when Anita Nayak and her son were traveling from Soro to Jiratal on a scooty. A youth intercepted them and grabbed Anita's mobile phone before speeding away on his two-wheeler. Acting swiftly, Anita and her son raised an alarm and pursued the fleeing youth.

In his attempt to evade capture, the youth lost control of his vehicle near Modern Hotel and fell heavily onto the ground. The impact caused severe head injuries, resulting in his death on the spot.

Local police arrived at the scene upon receiving information and transported the body for post-mortem examination. Efforts to identify the deceased youth are ongoing, as his identity remains unknown. The incident has sparked discussions on road safety and crime deterrence.
