Heated exchange between director Bobby Islam and actor Manoj Mishra
Bhubaneswar, Nov 22: Tensions flared outside the Bhubaneswar DCP office on Friday as a verbal altercation between Ollywood director Bobby Islam and actor Manoj Mishra escalated into a near-physical confrontation. The two had been summoned by DCP Pinak Mishra in an attempt to mediate their ongoing dispute, which has been unfolding publicly on social media.
Sources reported that the situation worsened when Manoj Mishra allegedly tried to threaten and assault Bobby Islam and fellow director Jyoti Das, who was also present. The conflict between the two has been brewing for some time, with both parties trading accusations online. Earlier this week, Bobby Islam lodged a complaint with Dargah Bazaar police in Cuttack, claiming he had received death threats from an individual allegedly using Manoj Mishra’s name. In response, Manoj Mishra filed a counter-complaint at the Chandrasekharpur police station.
During Friday’s meeting at the DCP office, what began as a resolution effort quickly spiraled into chaos. Heated verbal exchanges led to a physical confrontation, prompting police officers to intervene and separate the two.
Following the incident, Manoj Mishra alleged that Bobby Islam had been making personal attacks on him, which provoked his reaction. Mishra later apologized for his behavior, stating, “I should not lose my temper. I apologize to everyone for this incident.” Despite the apology, he maintained that Islam’s personal remarks had fueled the conflict.
