Bhubaneswar, Nov 8: A finance employee was robbed at gunpoint by three unidentified men near Nandapur Chhak on the Soro-Kupari Road on Friday.

The victim, Biswanath Raut, a native of Kendrapara district, has been working with Jio Finance in Khaira for the past two years. He resides in the Tudigadia area of Balasore.

The incident occurred while Raut was returning to his office in Khaira after collecting payments from various locations on behalf of Jio Finance. The assailants, armed with a gun and sharp weapons, intercepted him, assaulted him, and fled with the collected amount.

Raut recounted, “While I was heading back to the office, three men on a Pulsar bike stopped me and began using abusive language. They hit me, pushed me to the ground, and held me at gunpoint before escaping with ₹90,000.”

Upon receiving the information, Khaira Additional Inspector-in-Charge (AIC) Mousumi Mohanty arrived at the scene and initiated an investigation into the robbery.
