Das reported that the cyclone will strike with wind speeds of 100-110 kmph, gusting up to 120 kmph. “North Odisha districts will experience intensified rainfall on October 24 and 25, especially Kendrapara, Bhadrak, and Balasore,” he said, adding that the rainfall will reduce from October 26. Fishermen have been advised to return to shore, and coastal wind speeds are expected to rise from today.
The IMD’s latest bulletin indicates that the storm, centered 520 km southeast of Paradip, is moving northwest at 15 kmph. It is likely to strengthen into a severe cyclonic storm by the early morning of October 24, impacting areas between Puri and Sagar Island during landfall.
