Former DGP Arun Kumar Sarangi assumes role of OPSC Chairperson

Bhubaneswar, Oct 8: Former Odisha Director General of Police (DGP) Arun Kumar Sarangi officially took over as the Chairperson of the Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) on Tuesday, marking a significant transition in his career.
After voluntarily retiring from the Indian Police Service (IPS), Sarangi was appointed to this prestigious position in September. In his first remarks to the media, he highlighted his commitment to enhancing transparency in the examination process and ensuring the accurate evaluation of answer sheets, which he believes are crucial for maintaining the integrity of public service recruitment.
Sarangi also expressed a sense of nostalgia, stating, “I will miss the uniform a lot,” reflecting on his years of service in law enforcement. According to a notice from the General Administration and Public Grievance (GA&PG) Department, he will serve as OPSC Chairperson for six years or until he turns 62, whichever comes first.
