Relief for Odisha as IMD forecasts significant drop in rainfall from tomorrow

Bhubaneswar, Sept 27: After two days of relentless rainfall, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted a significant reduction in rainfall activity across Odisha tomorrow.
The regional weather office has indicated that heavy rainfall (7-11 cm) is likely to occur at isolated locations in just five districts—Bargarh, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, and Keonjhar.
According to the latest prediction, the intensity of rainfall will decrease substantially tomorrow, with only isolated heavy rainfall expected in these specific districts.
This forecast brings much-needed relief to the people of Odisha, who have been enduring continuous rain for the last 48 hours.
However, after a three-day break, the IMD has issued a yellow warning for thunderstorms with lightning in 14 districts on October 2. These districts include Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, and Sundargarh.
Though the rainfall intensity is expected to decrease, citizens are advised to stay vigilant, particularly in low-lying and waterlogged areas.
