Odisha to experience heavy rainfall as depression intensifies
Bhubaneswar, Sept 8: Heavy rain is expected to impact several parts of Odisha as a depression has formed over the west-central and adjoining northwest Bay of Bengal.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), a well-marked low-pressure area over the northwest and central Bay of Bengal has intensified into a depression. As of 5:30 AM IST today, it was centered over the west-central and adjoining northwest Bay of Bengal.
The depression is likely to move northwestward toward the north Odisha-West Bengal coasts and may intensify into a deep depression within the next 24 hours. It is projected to continue moving west-northwestward across north Odisha, Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand, and adjoining north Chhattisgarh over the following two days.

Orange Warning: Heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely at isolated locations in Ganjam, Gajapati, Malkangiri, Koraput, and Rayagada.
Yellow Warning: Heavy rainfall is expected at isolated places in Nabrangpur, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nayagarh, Khordha, Puri, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, and Kendrapara.
