Expelled BJD leader Sasmita Majhi arrested in job fraud case

Bhubaneswar, Aug 30: Mathili police on Friday arrested Zilla Parishad Member Sasmita Majhi, who was recently expelled from the Biju Janata Dal for her involvement in anti-people activities, in connection with a fraud case. Sasmita, along with her associates, has been accused of impersonating a relative of VK Pandian to deceive job aspirants out of lakhs of rupees.
The police have arrested three individuals so far, including Sasmita Majhi, Ramesh Rout, and another associate. They are accused of cheating several people by falsely promising them jobs in exchange for large sums of money. The trio operated across various districts, with their network extending from Kendrapara to Malkangiri.
Ramesh Rout was apprehended three days earlier in Bhubaneswar. Sasmita and Ramesh would introduce themselves as close aides of VK Pandian to lure job seekers. Multiple cases have been registered against them at the Mathili police station, and the investigation is ongoing to determine the full extent of their fraudulent activities.
