Bhubaneswar, Aug 30: A 12-year-old boy who went missing three days ago from Karadangi village under Telkoi police limits in Keonjhar district was found unconscious near a neighbor’s house on Friday. The boy was rescued from a pit in the backyard of a woman named Rashmi Patra, whom the boy's parents had accused of kidnapping him.

According to the boy’s mother, Rinki Patra, she had filed a complaint with the police on August 27, alleging that Rashmi had kidnapped her son. Rinki claimed that her son, along with Rashmi’s 5-year-old son, had stolen money from Rashmi’s house. She further accused Rashmi of detaining her son and his bicycle, demanding money in exchange for their release.

Police, led by the SDPO and a senior officer, conducted a thorough search of the village, including Rashmi's house, but initially could not locate the boy. However, on Friday, he was discovered unconscious in a pit behind Rashmi's house. The boy has been hospitalized and is receiving treatment. The police are investigating the incident, but no arrests have been made yet.
