IMD issues heavy rainfall warnings for Odisha

Bhubaneswar, Aug 24: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued warnings for heavy to very heavy rainfall in Odisha, predicting a period of intense downpour across several districts over the next two days.
With orange and yellow alerts in effect, residents in the affected regions are urged to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions as the state is expected to experience significant rainfall in the coming days.
According to the IMD, heavy to very heavy rainfall, ranging from 7 to 20 cm, is likely to occur in isolated locations across the districts of Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Angul, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Jajpur, and Kendrapara on August 25. An orange alert has been issued for these districts, indicating the need for preparedness against severe rainfall.
On August 26, the orange alert will continue for Mayurbhanj and Keonjhar districts, where heavy to very heavy rainfall is anticipated.
Additionally, a yellow alert has been issued for several districts, including Balasore, Bhadrak, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Kandhamal, Bolangir, Nuapada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Nabarangapur, Boudh, Deogarh, Bargarh, Sonepur, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, and Sambalpur on August 25, with heavy rainfall (7 to 11 cm) expected at one or two places in these areas.
