Bhubaneswar, Aug 19: As the nation celebrates the sacred bond of siblinghood on Raksha Bandhan, President Droupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi extended warm wishes to fellow citizens on this joyous occasion.

In her Raksha Bandhan message, President Murmu emphasized the importance of mutual trust and affection between siblings, urging everyone to pledge respect and safety for women. "On the auspicious occasion of Raksha Bandhan, I extend my heartfelt greetings and best wishes to all the countrymen. This festival, based on the feeling of love and mutual trust between brothers and sisters, instills a feeling of affection and respect towards all sisters and daughters. I would like that on this festival day, all the countrymen take a pledge to ensure the safety and respect of women in our society," President Murmu posted on X.

Taking to his X handle, PM Modi extended his wishes, hoping the festival would bring happiness, prosperity, and good fortune. "Best wishes to all countrymen on the occasion of Rakshabandhan, a festival symbolizing the immense love between brother and sister. May this holy festival bring new sweetness in the relationships of all of you and happiness, prosperity, and good fortune in life," PM Modi wrote on X.

Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Majhi also extended wishes to the citizens on this occasion. He wrote on his X handle, "On the auspicious occasion of Raksha Bandhan and the birthday of Lord Balabhadra, I extend my warmest wishes and greetings to all. May the sacred thread of Raksha, symbolizing love, devotion, and protection, bring joy and prosperity to everyone’s life and strengthen the sacred bond between brothers and sisters. This is my heartfelt wish to the Almighty."
