New Odisha DGP YB Khurania visits Jagannath Temple

Bhubaneswar, Aug 17: The newly appointed Director General of Police (DGP) of Odisha, YB Khurania, visited Jagannath Temple on Saturday, a day after assuming his new role.
Khurania, a 1990-batch IPS officer, was welcomed at the Lions' Gate of the temple by the Puri Superintendent of Police and other senior police officials.
Reports indicate that Khurania, accompanied by his family members, visited the 12th-century shrine to seek the blessings of Lord Jagannath. Following his prayers to the sibling deities, Khurania discussed security and crowd management arrangements with the temple authorities.
After his visit to the Jagannath Temple, Khurania expressed his gratitude and devotion, stating, “During my central deputation, I often reminisced about Lord Jagannath. I feel blessed to have the opportunity to serve the Lord and the people of Odisha once again. We will take all necessary measures to enhance the security of the temple and ensure a safe and smooth experience for devotees visiting the shrine.”
Khurania was repatriated to Odisha from his central deputation on July 26, and the Odisha government appointed him as the state's new DGP on August 16.
