YB Khurania appointed as new DGP of Odisha

Bhubaneswar, Aug 16: In a significant development, the Odisha government has appointed IPS officer YB Khurania as the new Director General of Police (DGP). The Appointments Committee of the Union Cabinet recently approved the proposal for his premature repatriation to Odisha.

YB Khurania, a 1990 batch IPS officer, has been serving as Special DG at the BSF Headquarters in New Delhi. His extensive experience and leadership skills make him well-suited for the top cop position. Khurania has previously held key positions, including Police Commissioner of the twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack, and Superintendent of Police (SP) of Nayagarh, Jajpur, Mayurbhanj, and Ganjam districts in Odisha.

“The Appointment Committee of the Cabinet has approved the proposal of the Ministry of Home Affairs for the premature repatriation of YB Khurania, IPS, Special DG, BSF, to his parent cadre with immediate effect,” stated the official notification.
