Bhubaneswar, July 20: A youth was stabbed to death at Talanagar under Soro police limits on National Highway 16 in Balasore district on Saturday.

The deceased has been identified as Rabi Narayan Guli, a resident of Puri.

Sources indicate that Rabi was living with his wife at Gopalpur in Balasore after marrying Ushamani, a local woman. On Friday night, he left for Bhadrak with a friend on a bike. Shortly after, residents of Talanagar discovered him lying in a pool of blood on Talanagar Road and alerted the police.

Patrolling officers rushed Rabi to Soro Hospital, where doctors declared him dead. Meanwhile, the friend who accompanied Rabi is suspected of murdering him, as he has been missing since the incident.

Upon receiving the news, Rabi's wife arrived at the hospital and identified the body. The police have taken custody of the body and sent it for a post-mortem. They have also registered a case and initiated a manhunt to apprehend the absconding friend.
