Padma Shri awardee Kamala Pujari admitted to SCB Hospital

Bhubaneswar, July 18: Padma Shri awardee Kamala Pujari, who has been suffering from a kidney-related ailment for a long time, was admitted to SCB Medical College and Hospital on Thursday.
Sources report that Pujari was brought to the state’s premier hospital by a special ambulance and is currently receiving treatment in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
A specialized team of four doctors from the Medicine, Nephrology, and Pulmonology departments has been formed to treat Pujari, led by Medicine department professor Jayant Panda.
Pujari was previously admitted to Cuttack SCB Medical College and Hospital in January and March for her deteriorating health condition and had recovered. The 73-year-old tribal woman from Koraput is renowned for her efforts in promoting organic farming and preserving indigenous paddy seeds.
Recently, she was admitted to the Jeypore District Headquarters Hospital on July 16. As her condition worsened, she was transferred to SCB.
