Sepoy and Soil Conservator Officer found dead in tragic incidents

Bhubaneswar, July 12: Odisha woke to tragic deaths on Friday, as a jawan and a Soil Conservator Officer (SCO) were found dead in separate incidents in Bhubaneswar and Jajpur district.
In Bhubaneswar, Sepoy Duryadhan Mohanty's body was discovered hanging inside the 7th Battalion campus. Initial reports indicate that the Sepoy, from the 2002 batch, was found hanging from a tree. The Maitrivihar police station has registered a case of unnatural death and has initiated an investigation. Clarity on the circumstances surrounding his death is expected after the post-mortem examination.
Similarly, in Jajpur district, the body of Soil Conservator Officer Suresh Mallick was found hanging from a tree at the deputy director of soil conservation's office premises. Mallick, who was in charge of Bari block, was found deceased under unclear circumstances. The Town Police have taken custody of the body and have launched an investigation into the incident.
