Bhubaneswar, July 11: Four days after a young man fell into the Tapang stone quarry at Bada Saunlia in Khurda, his whereabouts remain unknown. On Thursday, a special robot developed by Rourkela NIT joined the rescue efforts.
According to reports, four students from a Pahala-based educational institute visited Green Lake at Bada Saunlia on Monday to shoot a video. While filming near the edge of the lake, one of the students fell into the quarry. Om Prakash Rath, one of his friends, immediately jumped in to rescue him. Although the student who slipped was saved, Om went missing.
A team from the Odisha Fire and Emergency Service arrived with an advanced waterproof camera to assist in the search for Om. They were supported by the Odisha Disaster Rapid Action Force (ODRAF) and the National Disaster Rapid Action Force in the rescue operation.
