Srimandir Ratna Bhandar likely to open on July 14, says Law Minister

Bhubaneswar, July 11: The Srimandir Ratna Bhandar is likely to be opened on July 14, Law Minister Prithiviraj Harichandan announced on Thursday.
According to sources, the Srimandir Managing Committee has submitted a proposal to the Odisha government to open the Puri Srimandir Ratna Bhandar on July 14, following the recommendation of a high-level committee.
Speaking to the media, the Law Minister said, "The Ratna Bhandar will be opened on the date fixed by the committee. The management committee has approved the recommendation and sent it to the government. The Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) prepared by the committee will be properly verified. If everything is in order, the Ratna Bhandar will be opened on the scheduled date, as announced by the inspection committee."
The Ratna Bhandar Inspection Committee, in its second meeting on July 9, fixed July 14 as the date for opening the Ratna Bhandar. Committee chairman Justice Biswanath Rath stated that the only thing pending is government approval. The committee has recommended opening the Ratna Bhandar on July 14, and it now awaits the government's nod.
The 16-member committee discussed the opening of the Ratna Bhandar on July 9 and prepared the SOP. The committee has proposed that the government open the treasury on July 14 for both inventory and conservation purposes.
