Odisha to upgrade 800 schools Under PM Shri initiative

Bhubaneswar, July 10: In a significant move by the Odisha government, approximately 800 schools in the state will be upgraded under the PM Shri schools (PM Schools for Rising India) initiative, in alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP).
Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Majhi announced that a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed to implement the PM Shri School program in Odisha. The MoU was signed between the Department of School Education and Literacy, Ministry of Education, Government of India, and the State of Odisha.
According to the plan, two schools in each block and urban area will be developed under the PM Shri school initiative. Official sources stated that PM Shri schools will adopt the curriculum and teaching methods recommended by the NEP. Additionally, teaching in these schools will be technology-based, featuring ICT, digital labs, digital libraries, and digital learning tools.
Emphasis will also be placed on teaching in the mother tongue to reduce the language gap between teachers and students.
