Robbers steal Rs 7 lakh jewellery bag from businessman
Bhubaneswar, July 10: Miscreants stole a bag of jewellery after forcibly opening a bike's compartment while a businessman was dining at a roadside eatery at Narendrapur Square, under Chamakhandi police station in Ganjam district on Wednesday.
Jewellery merchants have lodged a complaint with the Chamakhandi police regarding the incident.
According to sources, the businessman had parked his bike by the roadside and was eating at a nearby eatery when the thieves broke open the bike's compartment and absconded with the jewellery bag. Upon finishing his meal, the businessman discovered the compartment open and the jewellery missing.
The police initiated an investigation based on the complaint and reviewed CCTV footage, which revealed that the thieves had fled with jewellery valued at ₹7 lakh. The investigation is ongoing based on the CCTV evidence gathered.
