President Murmu embarks on four-day Odisha visit for Rath Yatra

Bhubaneswar, July 6: President Droupadi Murmu begins her four-day visit to Odisha today, with plans to attend the iconic Lord Jagannath Rath Yatra festival in Puri tomorrow. Sources indicate that President Murmu will arrive at Biju Patnaik International Airport this evening, marking the start of her visit. Upon arrival, she will attend the 96th death anniversary of Utkalamani Pandit Gopabandhu Das in the capital city. On Sunday, President Murmu will witness the world-renowned Rath Yatra festival in Puri, observing the sacred procession of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, and Goddess Subhadra. Her itinerary includes visits to Udayagiri Caves, interactions with students at Bibhuti Kanungo College and Utkal University, and the inauguration of the Divine Retreat Centre of Brahma Kumaris on July 8. She will also attend the 13th Graduation Ceremony of the National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER) in Bhubaneswar. During her stay, President Murmu will visit Bhubaneswar, Puri, Khordha, and other locations. For security reasons, the Directorate of Intelligence, Bhubaneswar, has declared the areas where the President will visit and stay as ‘No Drone Zone’ and ‘No Flying Zone’. This order will be strictly enforced. Extensive security measures have been implemented for President Murmu’s visit to Puri for the Rath Yatra. A VIP zone has been planned for the Odisha Governor, Chief Minister, Union Ministers, and other dignitaries, with a buffer zone designated for the President. A dedicated team led by a senior SP rank officer has been formed to oversee the President's visit to the pilgrim town.
