IMD predicts heavy to very heavy rainfall in Odisha districts due to cyclonic storm

Bhubaneswar, June 27: Due to a cyclonic circulation over the Bay of Bengal, several districts in Odisha, including Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, and Ganjam, are expected to experience heavy to very heavy rainfall over the next four days, as per the latest forecast by the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
Additionally, the IMD has issued a yellow warning for heavy rainfall in the Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nuapada, and Bargarh districts.
According to the IMD, the cyclonic storm over the west-central and northwest Bay of Bengal is likely to bring significant rainfall to the state.
Several districts already experienced rainfall on Wednesday due to the cyclonic circulation over the Bay of Bengal. According to IMD reports, rainfall amounts recorded include Nayagarh with 110 mm, Parlakhemundi with 70 mm, Nabarangpur with 23 mm, Bhubaneswar with 21.3 mm, Malkangiri with 17 mm, Titlagarh with 15 mm, Phulbani with 14 mm, and Daringbadi with 13 mm.
On Thursday, Malkangiri and Koraput districts are expected to receive even heavier rainfall, ranging from 115 mm to 200 mm.
