The violence erupted Friday night at the Baripada bus stand, where a group clash over route permits and running times led to five people, including a bus owner, being critically injured. The altercation escalated into a bloody confrontation involving knife stabbings and fights.
Three of the injured were transferred to SCB Medical College and Hospital as their conditions worsened.
The president of the association has threatened to continue the strike until the arrest of those responsible for the assault on the bus owner and his aides.
