Bhubaneswar traffic alert: Restrictions for BJP CM's swearing-in ceremony
Bhubaneswar, June 11: The Bhubaneswar-Cuttack Commissionerate Police will impose traffic restrictions in parts of Bhubaneswar on Wednesday due to the oath-taking ceremony of the new Odisha Chief Minister.
The ceremony, marking the swearing-in of the first BJP Chief Minister in Odisha along with the Council of Ministers, will take place at Janata Maidan on Wednesday evening. Ahead of the event, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will conduct a thanksgiving roadshow in Bhubaneswar.
According to a traffic advisory from the Bhubaneswar-Cuttack Commissionerate Police, vehicular movement will be prohibited from Jaydev Vihar Square to Nalco Square and from Nalco Square to Jaydev Vihar, including connecting lanes and by-lanes, from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Wednesday or until the function concludes. Only vehicles with special passes for the oath-taking ceremony will be permitted on these routes.
Buses coming from Cuttack can use service roads after Rasulgarh ROB, passing through Vani Vihar, Acharya Vihar, Apollo Hospital, Sainik School, Press Chhak, Nalco Square, and Kalinga Hospital. Parking will be allowed in a single line from Railway Colony Chhak towards Utkal Hospital and Hatiasuni Chhak.
Buses from Nandankanan towards OMFED Square should turn left towards MCL Guest House, then right towards Press Chhak, and again right at the OSAP 7th Battalion Gate, Nalco Square, Kalinga Hospital Road, where parking will be on the same stretch.
Buses coming from Khurda should use the service road after Jaydev Vihar Square Flyover Bridge, passing through Acharya Vihar Square towards Apollo Hospital, Sainik School, and Press Chhak, with a dropping point at the OSAP 7th Battalion Gate, Nalco Square, Kalinga Hospital Road. They can park on the same stretch.
