Bus overturns on NH 16, injuring 15 en route to Kolkata
Bhubaneswar, June 8: A bus carrying 50 passengers from Bhubaneswar to Kolkata met with an accident near Narayangarh on National Highway 16 in West Bengal early Saturday morning, resulting in injuries to 15 people. Six of the injured are reported to be in critical condition.
Sources indicate that the bus was en route to Kolkata when it overturned near Narayangarh on NH 16.
Police and fire brigade officials promptly rescued the injured passengers and transported them to Makrampur Primary Health Centre. Subsequently, they were transferred to Medinipur Hospital. Tragically, two of the victims lost their legs in the incident.
The police have launched an investigation into the accident.
