Bhubaneswar, June 5: While conditions are favorable for the advancement of the Southwest Monsoon to south Odisha, hot and humid conditions are expected to persist in several parts of the state over the next four days. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Wednesday predicted that many areas in Odisha will also experience thunderstorms and rain accompanied by lightning during this period.

Light to moderate rain/thundershowers are very likely to occur in a few places over the districts of south Odisha and in one or two places over the districts of north Odisha.

Yellow Warning (Be Updated): Thunderstorms with lightning accompanied by gusty surface winds (40-50 kmph) are very likely at one or two places in Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Kalahandi, Bolangir, Malkangiri, Sonepur, Boudh, Nuapada, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Sundargarh, and Bargarh. Hot and humid conditions are very likely in one or two places in Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, and Gajapati.

Light to moderate rain/thundershowers are very likely in a few places over the districts of Odisha.

Light to moderate rain/thundershowers are very likely in a few places in south Odisha and one or two places in north coastal Odisha, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, and Mayurbhanj. Dry weather is very likely to prevail in the rest of the districts of Odisha.

Yellow Warning (Be Updated): Heatwave conditions are very likely at one or two places in Bolangir and Nuapada. Thunderstorms with lightning are likely at one or two places in Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, and Nabarangpur. Hot and humid conditions are very likely in one or two places in Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, and Gajapati.
