Naveen condemns opposition’s foul language and false claims
Bhubaneswar, May 29: Odisha Chief Minister and Biju Janata Dal (BJD) supremo Naveen Patnaik expressed his distress on Wednesday over the derogatory language and false accusations made against him and his party by leaders of various Opposition parties, particularly those visiting the state to campaign for their candidates.
In a video message to the people of Odisha, Naveen Patnaik stated, "Many Opposition leaders coming to the state from outside are targeting me with foul language and untrue statements. I have dedicated years to serving the 4.5 crore people of Odisha, and I trust that they will respond appropriately to these leaders in the June 1 elections for the Lok Sabha and Assembly constituencies."
Patnaik emphasized his own conduct, saying, "I have never used foul language against anyone or humiliated anyone. I have stood beside you in all good and bad times. Be it the Covid-19 pandemic, ravages caused by cyclones, or floods, I have always been with you. The Mission Shakti programme launched by my government has empowered women, while our government’s other welfare schemes have benefited farmers and youth. They will lead our state to prosperity."
Addressing the recent slander, he remarked, "Now, political leaders from other parties are discrediting us and resorting to slander. I know that the people of Odisha cannot tolerate this insult and will teach them a lesson this time."
Patnaik concluded by reaffirming his commitment to Odisha's development, saying, "I have worked for the development of Odisha all these years and have promised to make our state the No. 1 state in the country if you elect us to power once again. The blessings of Mahaprabhu Jagannath are always with us and He will bless us this time too."
