High-stakes campaigning ends today for Odisha's phase III elections

Bhubaneswar, May 23: The election campaign has reached a fever pitch ahead of the Phase III polling for Lok Sabha and Assembly seats in Odisha, scheduled for May 25.
Six Lok Sabha constituencies—Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Puri, Sambalpur, Keonjhar, and Dhenkanal—along with 42 Assembly segments within their jurisdiction, will cast their votes on May 25.
Leaders from the three major political parties—Congress, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), and Biju Janata Dal (BJD)—are vigorously holding rallies and roadshows to garner support for their candidates as the campaigning for the third phase of elections concludes today.
The intense electioneering will come to a close at 5 PM today, with top leaders making every effort to attract voters. With just a few hours left, prominent political figures are conducting whirlwind tours across the constituencies.
In Cuttack, the contest is between BJP’s Bhartruhari Mahtab, BJD’s Santrupt Misra, and Congress candidate Suresh Mohapatra. Puri will witness a fierce battle between BJD’s Arup Patnaik and BJP’s Sambit Patra. The state capital, Bhubaneswar, will see a tight race between BJD’s Manmath Routray and BJP’s Aparajita Sarangi.
On the final day of the election campaign for Phase III, BJP president J P Nadda, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, and Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma will address election rallies in Odisha.
